A. Pitenis Bros SA is one of the largest production companies in the Greek Food Industry. The company was founded in 1973, as a delicatessen appetizer industry. For two years the company was researching on various production methods until it achieved the production of six new appetizers. The rapid growth of product demand, caused the sequential transfer of the company into larger facilities, reinvesting, at the same time, on new machinery and production techniques.

By December 1997, the company completes the construction of a new modern appetizer production plant, with the acquisition of 14000 m2 land area and building facilities of 3000 m2 in order to efficiently handle the demanding conditions of domestic and international competition. The long-term confidence that consumers have shown on the company's products, as well as its family business-dexterity characteristics, lead to the production of more than 70 different kinds of appetizers by the year 2002. Since day one, company's business ethic remains the high quality standard of all its products. The company's plant facilities prove the method with which it achieves its high quality standard:

  • Stainless steel structure - Plasticized flat surface panels - Industrial floors with epoxy synthetic resin - Sanitary corners.
  • Stainless steel machines, tools and workbenches - Production machines that operate under vacuum - Air-conditioning and work environment cleaning systems.
  • Circular flow procedures; i.e., delivery of raw materials - collection - suitability inspection - initial processing - production of final product - chemical and microbiological inspection - packing - storage - boxing - final product outlet.
  • Separate sections or levels for different production processes - Separate storage rooms for each kind of raw material.
  • Vacuum packing for over-doubling the product's life.
  • Implementation of the Quality Management System "EN ISO 22000:2005" with "HACCP" (Hazardous and Critical Point Analysis) and GHP (Good Hygienic Practice) as well as the "EN ISO 9001:2000" System, all applied on production, packing and distribution of the company's products.
  • Administrative departments: Economics - Logistics - Production - Storage - Microbiological and Chemical Inspection - National and International Sales - Marketing and Graphic Arts - Research and Development - Internet and Intranet Administration.

The company fully supports each and every dealer of its products with continuous supply of promotional material, by participating in national and international trade fairs, by assisting with on-site sales inspectors, etc. All such outlets have the obligation to store the company’s products in the right chronological order (FIFO rule) and to correctly and efficiently utilize the promotional material.

The company has been granted with many National and International Awards for Enterprise and Quality.
